Ibbotson Architects are a London based practice founded in 2008 born out of the established ‘Stephen Ibbotson Architects’. Steve and Tom Ibbotson aimed to create a practice that resisted predetermined architectural solutions and believe that a rigorous investigation of each project's distinctive qualities and an inclusive design process is fundamental to successful delivery.

Steve Ibbotson established Stephen Ibbotson Architects in 1992 and developed a reputation for the insertion of modern elements within the existing fabric of historic buildings. The practice completed a number of successful schemes where the restoration of existing buildings was integrated with modern interventions on historically sensitive sites.

Ibbotson Architects was formed to both enhance the already established specialisms and to refresh and broaden these aims. Our role is to identify the challenge, communicate the idea, create consensus, and realise all projects efficiently. Whether churches, private or public housing, or community buildings, Ibbotson Architects drive all projects in a spirit of collaboration through consensus. We believe that high quality design solutions with financially successful outcomes result from intensive dialogue between the client, design team, and end users.

National Architectural Awards include, Westbourne Grove Church and All Saints Petersham, shortlisted for the RIBA Awards in 2006. The Petersham House additionally received the RIBA Conservation Award also in 2006.
